Online Therapy for Women in Fort Mill & York County, South Carolina
You can be doing well and still know
something needs to change.
You may have built a life that looks good from the outside. You handle your responsibilities, show up for the people who depend on you, and keep moving forward.
And yet, something may feel unsettled underneath it all.
Maybe you're exhausted from being the strong one. Perhaps old experiences still show up in your relationships or in the way your body responds to stress. You may be navigating a divorce, an empty nest, changes in your marriage or career, menopause, grief, or simply the realization that the roles and expectations that have shaped your life no longer fit in quite the same way.
Sometimes there isn't one obvious thing that's wrong.
You just know you're ready for something to be different.
Everyday Counts Therapy offers online therapy for women throughout Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Rock Hill, York County, and across South Carolina.
You may already know a lot about yourself.
Maybe you've been in therapy before. You understand where some of your patterns came from. You've learned coping skills. You may even be very good at explaining why you respond the way you do.
But insight doesn't always change what happens inside us.
You might still notice yourself becoming overwhelmed, shutting down, overthinking, people-pleasing, staying too long in relationships or situations that aren't working, or feeling responsible for everyone else's needs.
My work goes beyond simply managing symptoms. Together, we can explore the experiences, patterns, protective responses, and beliefs that continue to shape how you relate to yourself, other people, and the world around you.
The goal isn't to get rid of parts of yourself or force yourself to respond differently. It's to become curious about what those responses have been trying to do for you—and create space for something new.
Therapy that goes beyond managing symptoms
A different kind of trauma-informed therapy
I have more than 30 years of experience in the mental health field and have been in private practice since 2011.
My approach is integrative and may include:
EMDR therapy to help the brain and nervous system process experiences that continue to feel unresolved.
IFS-informed parts work to explore the different parts of you that may protect, criticize, avoid, strive, shut down, or carry pain.
Somatic and nervous system-informed therapy to pay attention not only to thoughts, but also to what your body may be communicating.
Cognitive and experiential approaches when they support the work we're doing together.
For women who want spirituality to be part of therapy, there is room for that too. Spirituality is never assumed or imposed. We can explore questions of meaning, purpose, faith, religious experiences, or your own spiritual path when they are important to you.
Therapy is shaped around you rather than requiring you to fit into one particular method.
This may be a good fit if...
You function well in much of your life but know you're carrying more than other people see.
You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, depression, relationship difficulties, or a significant life transition.
You might be questioning who you are outside of the roles you've filled for other people.
Perhaps you've done therapy before and gained insight, but still feel stuck in familiar patterns.
Or you may simply be at a point in your life when you're ready to understand yourself differently and do deeper work.
You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.
Sometimes the desire for meaningful change is enough reason to begin.
Therapy for women navigating change in midlife.
Midlife can bring changes that don't always fit neatly into a diagnosis.
Children leave home. Relationships evolve or end. Bodies change. Careers that once felt meaningful may feel different. Parents age. Old losses resurface. Religious or cultural beliefs may be questioned. And sometimes the identity you've carried for decades begins to feel too small for the person you're becoming.
These transitions can be difficult, but they can also invite important questions:
What matters to me now?
Which expectations still belong to me—and which never really did?
What have I been carrying?
What would it mean to live the next part of my life differently?
Therapy can provide space to explore those questions without needing to have the answers first.
