Online Therapy for Women in Charleston & Mount Pleasant

There can come a point when the life you've built no longer feels like the life you're meant to keep living in exactly the same way.

Perhaps you are navigating one or more of the following: Divorce. Empty nest. Menopause. Aging parents. Relationship changes. Career shifts. Grief. Spiritual questions.

Sound familiar? Let’s talk!

Everyday Counts Therapy provides private-pay online therapy for women throughout the Charleston area, including Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, and surrounding communities. Because sessions are offered through telehealth, you can choose a therapist based on the approach and relationship that feel right for you without adding another drive across Charleston to your day.

When the roles you've known begin to change

Midlife can bring changes that are difficult to name.

Your children may be leaving home, graduating, getting married, or beginning families of their own. You may be contemplating retirement or wondering whether you still want the career you've spent years building. You may be divorced, widowed, newly single, questioning a relationship, caring for aging parents, or noticing changes in your body that you weren't entirely prepared for.

Even changes you've wanted can leave you wondering: Who am I now?

For years, you may have known yourself through the roles you filled and the people who needed you. When those roles begin to change, questions about identity, worth, meaning, and purpose can rise to the surface.

There can be grief in this season—sometimes for things that are ending and sometimes for things that never had the chance to begin.

But there can also be a pull toward something else.

Old dreams may begin resurfacing. Parts of yourself that were set aside while you built a career, raised a family, maintained relationships, or simply did what needed to be done may start asking for your attention.

You don't have to know exactly what comes next.

Therapy can offer a place to listen—to the parts of you that are afraid of change, the parts that have protected you, and the parts that may be ready for something more.

We don't have to get rid of the parts that seem to hold you back. We can become curious about how they learned to protect you, what they may still be carrying, and what they might need now.

Together, we can make space for grief and healing, revisit possibilities you once set aside, and explore what feels meaningful to you in this next chapter.

Midlife doesn't have to be only about what is ending.

It can also be about discovering what is still becoming.

A different kind of trauma-informed therapy

I have more than 30 years of experience in the mental health field and have been in private practice since 2011.

My approach is integrative and may include:

EMDR therapy to help the brain and nervous system process experiences that continue to feel unresolved.

IFS-informed parts work to explore the different parts of you that may protect, criticize, avoid, strive, shut down, or carry pain.

Somatic and nervous system-informed therapy to pay attention not only to thoughts, but also to what your body may be communicating.

Cognitive and experiential approaches when they support the work we're doing together.

For women who want spirituality to be part of therapy, there is room for that too. Spirituality is never assumed or imposed. We can explore questions of meaning, purpose, faith, religious experiences, or your own spiritual path when they are important to you.

Therapy is shaped around you rather than requiring you to fit into one particular method.

everyday counts therapy may be a good fit if...

You function well in much of your life but know you're carrying more than other people see.

You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, depression, relationship difficulties, or a significant life transition.

You might be questioning who you are outside of the roles you've filled for other people.

Perhaps you've done therapy before and gained insight, but still feel stuck in familiar patterns.

Or you may simply be at a point in your life when you're ready to understand yourself differently and do deeper work.

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.

Sometimes the desire for meaningful change is enough reason to begin.
